Cleartrip shows the value of mobile web

Indian OTA Cleartrip has outlined a sharp growth in mobile bookings and expects its relaunched mobile web site to drive even bigger numbers  in the future.In the first three months of last year, mobile accounted for 42% of air volumes and 22% of hotel. Consecutive quarterly increases followed, and in the final three months of 2014 the figures had shot up to 54% and 38% respectively. Tablets remained constant throughout the year with 5% of hotel and air bookings.

Last minute mobile bookings is an industry in itself, and Cleartrip stats reflect this with 39% of hotel mobile bookings for stays on the same day or the day before. But Cleartrip users are also using mobile for trips planned in advance, with one-in-four bookings for a stay 29 days or more ahead.
