Amadeus Forecasts 1.8 Billion Annual International Travelers by 2030

According to the Future Traveler Tribes 2030 report by Amadeus, the number of annual international travelers is expected to reach a whopping 1.8 billion by the year 2030. An Amadeus poll of 800 U.S. consumers found that two-thirds (67 percent) of respondents could be considered Simplicity Searchers, or travelers looking for a stress- and surprise-free experience.
Travel industry sales are expected to reach $671 billion by 2018. Mobile booking sales are expected to increase 800 percent during that time. Looking back 15 years it is hard to underestimate how far the travel industry has come in terms of innovation, cost and choice for travelers and yet now, as looking forward 15 years to 2030, it is clear that change will only accelerate.
